Movement
The day-going spring-driven brass movement of this lantern clock has going and alarm trains, constructed between vertical bars. The going train has a horizontal verge escapement, situated on the top plate and a short pendulum. The going train is wound from the front, whereas the alarm is wound from the back.
Dial
The arched brass dial has a chapter ring with Roman hour, half-hour and quarter-hour, divisions. The time is indicated by a single shaped blued-steel hand, whilst the alarm time is set by a straight blued-steel hand. The four corners and the arch are engraved with floral and vine motifs
Case
The brass case has four steel corner pillars, two brass doors to the sides and a backplate with hoop and spikes. It is surmounted by a bell on a bell stand.
