MINIATURE HORIZONTAL TABLE CLOCK                            Circa 1790

Movement
The spring-driven, day-going movement of this miniature table clock is constructed between brass plates. It has a going train only, which has verge escapement with hairspring balance and regulation, situated on the backplate. The balance oscillates under a shaped pierced and engraved bridge.

Dial
The circular enamel dial is mounted on the gilt brass top plate of the case. The corners have engraved spandrels depicting flowers, set in a border engraving. The dial has a chapter ring with Roman hour divisions with five-minute and minute divisions. The time is indicated by a pair gilt-brass hands.

Case
The fire-gilt brass case of this square miniature table clock has framed windows to the sides. The clock is wound from the back for which there is a winding hole with a shutter in the hinged bottom plate, which gives access to the movement. The clock rests on four shaped bun feet.
