Movement
The spring-driven brass movement consists of a going train and alarm. The going train has verge escapement with a short pendulum. The alarm is set by turning a brass alarm disc behind the hands, the alarm time being indicated by the tail of the hour hand The movement is wound from the rear.

Dial
The circular white enamel dial has a black Roman chapter ring with Arabic five-minute and minute divisions. The time is indicated by a fine pair of blued steel hands, the hour hand terminating in a lily motif.

Case
The brass case has an engraved front depicting leafed vines, with at the bottom a bow. There are two doors to the sides with rectangular windows with facetted glazed panels. The short pendulum is suspended at the back. The case, situated on a terrace and surmounted by a pork-pie bell, is embellished by four finials on the corners and one on top of the bell. It rest on four turned brass feet. There is a gracefully pierced front fret, depicting two turtle doves facing each other, symbolising unity or love.
