RARE QUARTER-STRIKING CAPUCINE WITH ALARM

Movement
The spring-driven movement consists of going and striking trains as well as alarm. The going train has anchor escapement with a short silk-suspended pendulum. The quarter striking train indicates the hour fully on one bell and the quarters with a double stroke on two bells. The hour striking is repeated after two minutes The alarm, which is situated in the top left corner, is activated by pulling a cord on the side.

Dial
The circular white enamel dial has a black Roman chapter ring with five-minute and minute divisions. The time is indicated by a blued steel pair of Breguet hands. The central brass alarm hand has the shape of an arrow. The dial is set in an engine-turned bezel. The winding holes are situated near the VII and the V.

Case
The brass case has doors to the sides and the back. The back door is locked with a typically shaped latch at the top. The doors to the sides have brass knobs. There are two superimposed bells on a stand on top of the clock. The quarter-striking and the alarm hammers are situated under the lower bell. The bells are surmounted by a brass carrying handle attached to a finial, which has the same shape as the four finials on the corners. The clock rests on four shaped feet.
