Movement
The circular, spring-driven, day-going brass movement has a going train only with cylinder escapement and hairspring balance. At the end of the day the clock is wound by moving it up along the rack, thus winding the spring. Subsequently the movement runs down along the vertical rack.

Dial
The dial has a chapter ring formed by white enamel cartouches with Roman hour numerals. The time is indicated by a pair of gilt-steel hands.

Case
The movement is situated in a silvered brass sphere, which is spangled by gilt-brass stars. The sphere moves along a rack, which is surmounted by a carrying handle and is situated on a moulded marble base. At the bottom of the circular rack is a brass base, which is signed by the maker in the following manner: E. Ferrier B.té (short for breveté, meaning patented)

Duration 24 hours.
