Movement
Brass-plated movement with anchor escapement and pendulum. Hour and quarter striking on request, on a bell. The going train is driven by a barrel.

Dial
The round white enamel dial has black enamelled Roman numerals for the hour-indication and Arabic numerals for the 5-minute indication. Above the XII the movement can be regulated. On the case, below the 30, is a pendulum aperture, to set the pendulum and view its action. The dial is signed Gille l’Aîné A Paris. The two pierced L. XV hands are made of gilt brass.

Case
The ormulo case is assymetric decorated with floral designs and other decorations.

The maker
Pierre Gille l’ainé was working in Paris, Ouvrier Trinité, 1745. He made his masterpiece in 1746. He was working in Rue St-Martin 1746-1748, Rue St. Denis 1751-1760, Rue aux Ours 1765-1775, Rue St- Martin 1774-1778. Pierre le Roy was an apprentice of him.
