Movement
The spring-driven brass movement consists of going and striking trains. The going train is equipped with pinwheel escapement and adjustable balance. The balance is situated outside the movement on the base of the case and has a right-angle transmission to the movement. The striking mechanism, controlled by a countwheel, indicates the hours in full and the half hours with one stroke on a bell. The bell and the countwheel are located on the back plate. The movement is wound at the back. The regulation is located at the front of the escapement.
Dial
The circular, white enamelled dial has a chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, Arabic quarter, five-minute and minute divisions. The dial is signed below the middle as follows Debelle à Paris. The time is indicated by two delicately pierced blued steel hands. The dial is protected by a convex glass that is set in an engine-turned gilt brass bezel.
Case
The arched gilt brass case consists of a moulded base with decorative rims, four fluted pillars, bases and Doric capitals, and a top part, which houses the movement. Below the dial is a gilt cast brass lambrequin with tassels.
